What People Are Saying
The Charleston International Antiques Show is the only event of its kind in the Southeast. Featuring more than 30 dealers with an unprecedented display of museum-quality antiques, the event is one that antique experts and attendees alike thought was long overdue, given Charleston's rich architectural, cultural and historical legacy. Feedback on the show has included:

"Praise for the committee, setting, management, and crowds were universal. Philip Suval called it 'the finest first show with world-class dealers' he had experienced."

"…successful for us right out of the gate. We don't take adding a show to our calendar very lightly, but given the historical period of so much of the architecture in Charleston, we felt like it was a great place to introduce our merchandise."
-- Eric Baumgartner, Hirschl & Adler Galleries
as quoted in the (Charleston) Post and Courier
~

"The inaugural Charleston International Antiques Show, conducted earlier this spring at the High Battery at Historic Charleston Foundation's headquarters, was a resounding success…."
-- Antiques and The Arts Weekly

"Dorothy Rebollo praised show organizers for training volunteers to lead novice collectors on tours through the show. One volunteer later returned to Rebollo's booth with a male friend and pointed out an item Rebollo had discussed during training. The friend purchased it. 'That is like it used to be,' said Rebollo, remembering a time when show organizers paid close attention to education and cultivating personal recommendations."

"No other city in the South has a greater reverence for history, devotion to preservation, or appreciation for family heirlooms than Charleston, South Carolina. From its 29 downtown antiques shops to its historic districts with more than 1,600 historically significant buildings, this city abounds in cultural and personal treasures."

"The pearls were swinging, … and tommy guns were blazing (well I did see one) at the Historic Charleston Foundation Young Collectors' Soiree…the south property of 40 East Bay was infused with the spirit, albeit very subdued, of a bygone era as guests wandered among the vendor stalls of the Historic Charleston Foundation (HCF) first International Antiques Show."
