Drayton Hall Oyster Roasts and Picnics

Festival Oyster Roasts and Picnics will be at historic Drayton Hall, a property of the National Trust for Preservation. This National Historic Landmark, c. 1738, is the only plantation house on the historic Ashley River to predate the Civil War. This oyster roast and picnic will introduce guests to the culinary pleasures of the Lowcountry, with steamed oysters and other Southern favorites, such as fried chicken or pulled pork barbecue. Admission includes a guided tour of the historic house and grounds.

Drayton Hall Plantation is located about 9 miles northwest of Charleston on Highway 61. Guests should provide their own transportation. Click here for directions.

Cost is $45 for adults; $20 for ages 6-12; children under 6 free. You may order online or by calling 843-722-3405 after Nov. 1, 2008.
