Historic Charleston Foundation advocates for the preservation of Charleston and the Lowcountry’s historic buildings. This advocacy includes preserving the cultural character of the area by engaging in livability and quality of life issues for area residents. Through our museum houses, K – 12 education initiatives, community programs, and events, we educate the public about the benefits and importance of preservation. By collaborating with a diverse mix of citizens, public servants, organizations, and neighborhoods, we work to ensure our city is a place we can all call home.
The generosity of volunteers, friends, and private and corporate donors helps support our preservation and advocacy efforts, maintenance of our museum houses, acquisition of historic objects, K – 12 education initiatives, community programs, and events. Together, we’ll ensure Charleston’s historic legacy and quality of life for all citizens.
