Historic Charleston Foundation advocates for the preservation of Charleston and the Lowcountry’s historic buildings. This advocacy includes preserving the cultural character of the area by engaging in livability and quality of life issues for area residents. Through our museum houses, K – 12 education initiatives, community programs, and events, we educate the public about the benefits and importance of preservation. By collaborating with a diverse mix of citizens, public servants, organizations, and neighborhoods, we work to ensure our city is a place we can all call home.
As a city, we’re in a seminal period where so many choices about our future rely on how we make sense of our past, right now. Fail, and we lose an essential part of ourselves – and our city – that we can’t ever get back.
